One Room Challenge-Week 5-Accessories
I cannot believe we are at week five of the One Room Challenge! Time is flying and we still have a lot to do, but it's all starting to come together! The biggest change happened to the room this week with the installation of the wallpaper. And by installation, I mean me, on a stepladder at 11 at night! I'll admit that I have a tendency to bite off more than I can chew, but the result is totally worth it! We used this Daydream paper by Hygge and West in the most gorgeous gold and blush. Our original plan was to use this paper in the white and gold, but we made a last minute decision to go with the blush, and we couldn't be happier!
In other news, our headboard is complete... at least the wood structure is complete. It's now time for me to work some DIY magic. I designed the headboard and my amazing client's father constructed it to absolute perfection! We have a gorgeous blush linen planned for the headboard, that will hopefully be the perfect compliment to our wallpaper.
Finally, we were able to accessorize most of the room once the missing dressers from West Elm arrived this week! Accessories are my absolute favorite part of any room, and are really the glue that hold a space together stylistically. We pulled lots of green and turquoise objects from the color pallet of the fabric for our accessories. I also love using brass and mirrored objects, as they create both warmth and light. We are still waiting on our custom lampshades and finials, but it is exciting to get a glimpse of what the finished product will look like!
That's it for now! Be sure to check out the other amazing rooms here! I am excited about some of these as much as I am our own room! Seeing people's creative vision is so inspiring!
Happy Decorating,
Mallory
