Velvety Smooth

When I was in the third grade I got the most sumptuous pair of black velvet overalls.  They came from the American Girl Catalog and I selected an equally 90's turquoise silk top with rhinestone buttons to complete my ensemble.   It was a very Blossom look, that would have been perfect for a Prince concert (if I had only been so cool), that any nine year old girl would be totally envious of.  To say I felt amazing in my black velvet overalls would be an understatement. Almost 25 years later, velvet is back in the best of ways, making me wish for a new pair of black velvet overalls, or maybe just some gorgeous velvet pillows to make my home feel instantly cozy and winter ready! 

So in an effort for you be as cool as me circa 1993, I'm sharing some of my favorite things in all their beautiful velvety-ness to make you and your house totally winter ready!  Also, tell me your favorite velvet memories and finds.  I would love to know I was not the only one with velvet overalls...
