Our Layered Living Room Reveal!

Our Layered Living Room Reveal!

It's finally reveal day for all the One Room Challenge Spaces! I cannot believe how the past five weeks have flown by! If you have been following along you know that we have a new beautiful baby girl that just turned four months old!   She's amazing, but as you can imagine it has made this One Room Challenge the most challenging yet!  See my first ORC client master bedroom here and our ORC from last fall (our baby's nursery) here! This time around we tackled our living room.  It was a space that we moved into and just dumped all the stuff from our previous house. Nothing fit or worked in the space.  The couch was too small, and the old furniture was just too dark and heavy for our new space.  This space wasn't functioning how we needed it to and it wasn't comfortable.  Read about and see the before here.

The Before

The Before

Some things in the room stayed like the glider (we have an identical one in Amelia's room right now and it is a current must have) and our beloved acrylic coffee table.  Other things got makeovers or reworked.  We made a table skirt for the table beside the sofa to give it a new look and sprayed the new rattan table sides for beside the chair to add a little punch.  Most of all we wanted this space so represent who we are now as a family.  It had to be cozy and kid friendly too.  The ginger jars will have to go somewhere higher soon as are little one is becoming increasingly more mobile but I am enjoying displaying them for now!  Our goal was to create a layered space that had lots of texture and a collected look.  We also loved including lots of family heirlooms and antiques in this space.  The artwork is a piece I created especially for the ORC and this space from a photo I took in our yard earlier this year.

So lets get down to the real reason you're here and show you the reveal of our Layered Living Room! I hope you love it as much as we do! I love color and I am not a minimalist so lovers of all that white beware!
